Mürren, Switzerland

Overview

Mürren has few rivals as Switzerland's prettiest and most unspoilt ski village. Old chalets and hotels line the paths between the railway station at one end and the cable-car at the other. This car-free village is on a sunny shelf perched on top of a 500-metre rock-face above Lauterbrunnen. The same British families, nearly all of them members of the Kandahar Club, have been returning here for generations and have forged firm links with the local villagers.
