Overview

The Jungfrau region is one of the most popular in the Alps. It is recognised as the nursery of modern skiing and has always had an edge on quality that it has maintained over the years. The mountain railway, which dates from the 1880s, is still the backbone of the lift system today, making both Wengen and Grindelwald ideal bases for non-skiers.
